Spring Cleaning {Wardrobe Edition}

Sunday, 5 May 2013

This past week was MIDTERMS, ugh. It was a tough week; two written exams and two test cases. Friday, I got home from school and just wanted to pass out. However, I somehow got a second wind and decided to clean out my closet {and drawers and shelves}.

I will tell you, it was very cathartic. After a hectic week, it was very comforting to go through all my clothes and purge everything that I don’t wear. I made a rule: I had to love the item to keep it. I feel that if we say, “I will only keep the stuff that I will wear” we get into a hoarders problem. We will always make excuses with ourselves that we wore that one top that one time and we probably will again. I decided that I would only keep the items that I actually wear and that I really do {currently} love. I had some items that I was hanging on to that were perfect for Southern California weather, but as I will not be living there for some time, it was time to say goodbye.

I now have pieces in my closet that I love and feel fit my current style: classic and feminine with pops of color and patterns.

I’m working on finding a few more business casual basics to add to my wardrobe.
