Life 365 | Week 6

Good morning and Happy Monday! Last week, I slowed down a bit with my blogging to take a little mental break while I worked on a few personal things. I’m feeling better now that I’ve had a little R & R.

I had an absolutely wonderful weekend. My mom was here to celebrate my baby shower with Paul and me. I am getting so excited to welcome our little darling into the world. I will be sharing the photos from the shower this week.

3 :: We have definitely been nesting. I am in love with our new changing table. It has tons of drawer space too.

4 :: I treated myself to my favorite brunch place after a tough morning in clinic. It was so nice to have a cup of coffee and read a good book.

5 :: My belly button switches between an innie and an outie - it’s an inbetweenie!

6 :: I was cracking myself up while resting my plate on my growing belly. I’ve definitely gotten bigger the past couple of weeks. Where did my waist go??

7 :: Woo hoo! It finally rained here! Although I don’t like getting stuck outside in the rain, I know we really needed it.

8 :: My first baby shower was Saturday and it was truly magical. I have such wonderful friends who really made this day special for Paul and me.

9 :: My mom and I woke up early to hit up my favorite brunch place {twice in one week, yay!}. We sat and talked and enjoyed each other’s company. I was so sad to say goodbye to her and I cannot wait to see my family again in March for my second baby shower.

This week, Natalie and I are on our Oral Medicine rotation. I’ve heard this rotation can be really intense so wish me luck. Tomorrow, I am officially 7 months pregnant! Stay tuned for my baby bump update and pictures from the shower. Paul is planning a special Valentine’s celebration for us too. I love the day of LOVE.

Happy Friday & app love

So it turns out just taking a couple days was all I needed to calm down and regroup. I’ve been thinking about a lot this week and I have turned to some close friends and family members for support. I am completely blessed and extremely grateful for my loved ones.

My mom’s flight gets in soon so I hope that I’m out of class early this afternoon to spend time with her. I am looking forward to my first baby shower tomorrow {I have the best friends – thanks Grace and Natalie!}.

I also spent some time working on my blog layout. I seriously have blog ADD, I cannot stay with one layout too long.

Anyway, I would like to share with you my new favorite app of the moment to launch you into this weekend. Waterlogue is an adorable watercolor photo editing app that turns your photos into beautiful watercolor paintings. I am completely obsessed!

These are just so darling! I have a feeling I will be using this app a lot this year.

27 :: Look at that delicious milky foam on my cappuccino. My mornings are forever changed!

28 :: Paul just loves to feel my belly and all of the baby’s movements. Sometimes we just sit with his hand on my stomach – it’s so sweet.

29 :: “On Wednesdays, we wear pink.” - Karen, Mean Girls

30 :: My pre-pregnancy shirts still look pretty great with this huge belly stretching them out. I loved this outfit this week. It felt so feminine and pretty.

31 :: Paul was my patient on Friday so I could clean his teeth. Hopefully I didn’t traumatize him.

1 :: I got a new bath rack! Baths really soothe my aches and pains and I love to read in the tub. This is just too awesome - it has a cup holder!

2 :: Natalie and Josh came over for the Superbowl and we made pizza! We got pretty creative if I do say so myself.

I hope you all have a great week ahead! I will be super busy in clinic this week, whew!

At the moment {V.13}

Happy February! This is one of my favorite months of the year! I am unabashedly obsessed with the month of love. I love that hearts are everywhere, I love that people just love to give candy to one another, and I love how romantic people seem to be. Call me cheesy, but I can’t deny how much I love LOVE.

Here is what I’m up to at the moment.

DRINKING // Delicious espresso beverages with my new Nespresso. It’s heaven in a glass.

EATING // A whole lot of everything. My appetite has definitely increased lately.

BUILDING // Furniture for the baby stuff. We don’t have a lot of room in our one bedroom so we are making it work with a few new items.

MAKING // My Project Life scrapbook. I love the way it’s coming together so far.

WEARING // Maternity clothes and yoga pants. I REALLY don’t like anything pressing on my pelvic region.

READING // Fit Pregnancy and a lot of mommy blogs. You gals are fantastic with all your information.

LOVING // My wonderful friends and family who are so caring and supportive.

ANTICIPATING // My first baby shower next Saturday! I don’t know what to expect but I’m so excited for it.

Paul says he’s planning something special for Valentine’s Day in a couple of weeks. I wonder what it will be!

Happy Superbowl weekend! I mostly just watch for the food and commercials. ;]

My magical mornings

I have always been a morning person and lately, I have been loving my mornings even more than usual. I wake up to my alarm, stretch my arms and legs, and roll out of bed. I gulp down some water and head to the kitchen. I prepare some oatmeal, brew an espresso, and froth some milk. Paul wakes up a little after me and comes to kiss me good morning.

My morning is filled with quietly sipping my cappuccino and sitting with my hand on my stomach. I feel the baby’s morning movements just as she wakes up and picture what body part I’m feeling. Was that an elbow? Was that a foot?Does she do full-body stretches just like her daddy? She is my beautiful little acrobat.

I picture what it will be like a few months from now when the three of us are waking up each morning. Paul will lift her from her bassinet and bring her to me so the three of us can snuggle for her morning feeding. I wonder how things will change in our morning routine. I wonder if morning will still be my favorite time of day. I wonder, I wonder.

Although I love my morning routine, I’m looking forward to the many changes we will experience. Now that we have entered the third trimester, I am getting more and more impatient to be holding our sweet baby in my arms.

What is your morning routine? How did things change for you when your children were born?
