Planner | Week 8

Well, at SOME point, I promise to post about something other than my planner.

But truthfully — can I be honest with you — I almost have too much stuff going on in my head that it’s hard to write about it. Do you ever feel that way? Like, there is so much to digest and talk about and work through that your mind shuts down and you can’t articulate any of it?

I am going to the Blessed Is She Shine retreat this coming weekend (yayayay!!) and I’ll be spending some time in Eucharistic Adoration and I’m hoping to unpack a lot of muh feels with the Lord Himself.

Speaking of the Shine retreat? Is anyone else going? I am heading to the one in Phoenix this weekend but there will be others this year including Kansas City, Nashville, Houston, and Ireland. There will be a couple of other locations I think, but those have not been announced yet.

On to the planner! I have some adorable “journaling doodles” stickers that I wanted to use so I paired them with some washi and voila! I also used some travel themed stickers for my trip at the end of the week.

(and other Blessed Is She good news!)

I’m not going to lie, I love Valentine’s Day. I have never had that *shakes fist in the air* angst about love day. I know it is super commercialized and that it legitimately bothers people that the feast day has been hijacked, but I can’t help it. I love LOVE.

The seemingly endless winter can leave us listless and craving sunshine, so this holiday falls just when I am so sick of the dark winter nights that I can’t take it anymore. It is restorative! It is PINK AND RED threw up on everything! It’s candy! It’s love!

Okay, calm down Samantha.

This week’s planner spread is inspired by — to no surprise by anyone — Valentine’s day!

Planner | Week 6

Okay, okay, OKAY! I promise at some point I won’t talk about how much I love my planner every single day. But today is not that day. MMKAY. Well it’s week six in my planner and I was super busy with family stuffs this weekend so I whipped this planner spread together quicker than I normally do. And you know what? I am digging it. I put the pressure on myself to make fast design decisions and I am glad I did. (And I sound like I’m on some HGTV show but who cares, I’m a #planneraddict and I’m not afraid to admit it.)

Planner | February

Planner | February

It’s Friday the first in February! And I love alliteration folks.

But it’s the first of the month and that means a new monthly spread in my Blessed Is She planner! And I am just so excited about it. I was debating between going full-on Valentine’s theme. But I decided on a subtler floral theme because I am craving spring time and pleasanter weather. I saved the Valentine’s theme for my bullet journal habit tracker.

Now important question: What team are you on? Are you on the academic year planner team or the calendar year planner team?

I’ve always leaned towards academic year planners because I was in school for 47 years and it’s just stuck. But every time I think of switching to the calendar year, I get anxiety because that means I’ll have a planner lapse between August and January! GASP! Or I’ll have a planner I’ve used from only August through December then I’d have to start over! DOUBLE GASP!

Yes I realize, these are interesting things to obsess about, but hey, I’m my own version of weird.

To The End | Blessed Is She Lent Devotional

To The End | Blessed Is She Lent Devotional

My friends, the Lent season in the Liturgical year is always a transformative season for me. Sometimes I am renewed, sometimes my heart is burst open, and sometimes I am comforted while I carry my own crosses. Last Lent, I was deep in those feelings of fear and anxiety as I had just found out about my unexpected pregnancy. Between the crippling morning sickness, the start of my new director role at work, and my general anxieties, Lent was a challenging season to say the least. But thankfully, I walked alongside thousands of women as we reflected on what it meant to be a believer and what it meant to pick up our crosses.

Needless to say, I am approaching this Lent in a different stage of life. Our sweet Theo is here and although the overwhelming reality of three(!!) kids is nothing to scoff at, I am comforted by how the Lord has provided for us this past year and how He has not removed those crosses, but shown me how to find grace in the daily stresses and suffering.

So I am incredibly excited to have this year’s Blessed Is She Lent Devotional in my hands. This Lent, we will explore the depths of Christ’s sacrificial love.
