Pre-kid me: my kids will only eat organic food while they do reading exercises between nature crafting then go to sleep at a reasonable hour in their own beds
Post kid me: hey let’s wash your kraft mac and cheese down with a sleeve of ritz crackers and your fifth episode of paw patrol then crash into whatever bed we settle on

As the great philosopher Olaf tells us to, we are enjoying the last few days of SUMMMMERRRRRRR! ⛄️☀️

When am I going to get my body back? I whispered to myself for the hundredth time. I stood staring at every roll and mark and lump and gray hair and dark circle and scratch and dimple.
Soon I thought, soon he’ll sleep through the night and then I can get to the gym. Soon they’ll help me more around the house so I have more time to rest. Soon they won’t pick fights at meal time so I can eat more regularly myself.
But then I comfort a crying toddler or nurse a hungry baby or let her brush my hair the wrong way.
And then I realize I answered my own question. When am I going to get my body back? Never, because I already gave it away.
And I’d do it a thousand times more.

Guess who discovered fake crying to get what he wants? 😭😉
