I took this weekend to regroup and unplug and it ended up being a very relaxing weekend and much needed break.
This was truly a wonderful weekend. Paul and I got to rekindle our relationship with fun outings, good eats, church, and even errands.
We started the weekend on Friday night with one of our favorite combos: In-N-Out and Krispy Kreme {hold on while I continue drooling}. There is a little shopping center about 15 minutes south of us where these two gems are right next door. This is a deadly/heavenly combination. If this is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
Saturday we went to the East Bay to go shopping for Paul. There were some good sales and we got some great business clothes for Paul. I’m looking forward to chucking reorganizing some of Paul’s current wardrobe {hehe}. We also enjoyed a couple movies at home, a long lunch, and a quiet evening.
Today, we went to a local church that I had always driven past but never been too. It was so darling and welcoming and I really enjoyed the homily. The priest talked about how important it is to strive for one’s convictions. It’s not just about following rules or going down a spiritual to-do list, but about going above and beyond and living Christ’s message of sacrifice.
We did our weekly Trader Joe’s shopping and have been relaxing at home all day. I made a lovely salmon dinner and there weren’t even leftovers, yum!
Weekends like these are truly special and I love the peacefulness that comes from simple moments with my husband. I look forward to many more weekends relaxing at home, running errands, and enjoying meals together, now and when our family grows. I’m grateful for our marriage and it is stronger than it has ever been.
What do you do on your relaxing, family-centered weekends?
