Last week I experienced a disheartening reality – bullies still exist in the professional world.
Although I accept that some people rely on manipulation, intimidation, and unprofessionalism to get ahead, I have not been, and will NEVER be that kind of person. I am proud that I hold my head high, treat others with respect and kindness, and value honesty and integrity.
The path is often more difficult for those who play by the rules and live honorably. I get frustrated when I think of what I miss out on by taking this more difficult path, but where would I be without my sense of morality? Where would any of us be?
So I have come to this conclusion: I am me. I am who I am because of how I was brought up, my morals, my integrity, and the wonderful friends and family in my life.
Difficult times are always on the horizon, that is reality. But as long as I hold my head high with my wonderful family and friends by my side, nothing can crush my spirit.
This is what matters to me. :]
What matters to you?
