On Letting Go

Sunday, 23 June 2013

Do you ever have those moments where you feel the universe speaking to you? The past couple days have really given me a few things to think about.

This weekend, I stood at the peak of the city and felt God speaking to me and filling my heart. He was telling me to let it go.

Now for some people, this may not seem like a profound message, but letting go is something I struggle with. I have a hard time relinquishing control and going along with the unknown. I get anxious easily. I hold too many grudges and I struggle with forgiveness.

But as I was standing at the highest peak in the city, I was reminded of the vastness of the universe, God’s undying love, and the power behind letting it all go. I stood at the top of the mountain. Powerful winds were practically blowing me away but I could also feel my anxiety being blown away with the wind. I felt this beautiful peace, joy, and the majesty of God.

And just for good measure, to really hammer His message home {He’s persistent like that}, He spoke to me through a beautiful worship song this morning.

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
