Good afternoon on this glorious Sunday.
Okay, let’s celebrate small victories friends. All three of my kids sat in the pew the entire time during Mass today and no one had a meltdown. Who am I kidding? This is a huge victory! At the end of Mass, our Pastor was announcing our Parish’s upcoming March events. It’s a jam-packed month in our Parish but most of all, Lent starts THIS WEEK.
Even though Lent starts fairly late this year, it still kind of snuck up on me. What about you all? The past week I’ve been praying about what my Lenten prayer, almsgiving, and fasting promises should be. My friend Beth talks about asking God to show you what He wants from you this season, so the Father did me a solid and spelled it out for me pretty specifically this year. (THANKS DAD) Read More
There are only three weeks left of 2018 and it feels like we still have so much to do. Or is it just me? No only is the year ending, which has its associated to-dos and what not, but my maternity leave will be ending and going back to work will present new challenges.
But that makes me determined to soak in these next few weeks with added joy and gratitude. This week, I’ll be focusing on getting things ready for our Christmas travels to see our families and doing last minute gift buying and wrapping. I’m hoping I don’t get too swept up in the hustle and bustle and just stay calm (as tough as it is for me). Read More
Hello! Guess where I am right now? I am sitting in front of a the fireplace of our room in Lake Tahoe. There is a glorious blanket of snow covering the mountains and my favorite christmasy trees. The lake is still and shining and I am in my happy place. My husband and I (and the growing family) travel to South Lake Tahoe multiple times per year (I’d go every season if I could). It might be my most favorite place in the whole wide world.
My mom joined us this time and I am so happy she gets to see the kids play in the snow and enjoy a much-deserved vacation. We will be here the week. I’m not the best actually IN the snow as I prefer to look at it from a safe and warm distance, hehe.
We don’t really do snow sports but I’m sure Paul will take the bigger kids to do some tubing while the milk-addict and I will enjoy hot beverages, good books, and that fresh mountain air. We have our favorite restaurants here in South Lake and really, I’m just looking forward to a little respite from the daily grind at home to relax. Read More
And week 48/52!
I get super excited when a new month is upon us because monthly spreads are my fav. I love looking ahead to the new month because I feel we get a fresh start, a mini-New Year so to speak. December is one of the best months of the year. Period. One, there is Christmas so that’s an obvious reason but it is also the start of the new year in the liturgical calendar.
I have so many happy memories of Advent growing up. The season of preparation is an important one in the church year — to prepare our hearts and home for the coming of our Lord. YAY! This year, I will be going through the Blessed Is She Advent Devotional called Bearing Light, written by my friend Shannon. The Blessed Is She journals are always transformative for me. I hope you’ve picked yours up!
Here is my December monthly spread and week 48’s spread in my Blessed Is She mini planner. Show me your planner too! Read More
