Well, well what do you know? It’s already Tuesday. That is one of the best things about three-day weekends. Tuesday sneaks up from behind you and gives you a great big old bear hug. You see Thursday giving you a thumbs up. You get a wink and an atta boy from Friday in the close distance.

Did it just get weird?

Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed your three-day weekend. On Saturday, Paul surprised me with a date day! He arranged babysitting with Auntie Grace and Uncle Brian, brought roses and a card, and bought movie tickets. We had lunch at this local gourmet grilled cheese place and I burnt my tongue on tomato soup. He makes me swoon.

On Sunday we did errands. And by George, we did ‘em good. We hit up Target, Costco, and Trader Joe’s. Paul surprised me again with sneaking my dream Dyson slim vacuum in the cart at Costco. I skipped up and down the aisles and kicked my heels together. No really, I did. Good thing everyone else was distracted with the free samples. Monday, we relaxed. Emma and I never changed out of our PJs. It was a great weekend.

Here is what else I have been up to at the moment.

The gang’s all here.

EATING Bagels and lox. Erra. Single. Day.

DRINKING Coffee on repeat. Sleep training is making me need a coffee IV drip.

LOVING My new Dyson slim vacuum. There is something so satisfying about vacuuming the crevices that have been abandoned by traditional vacuums. Dust bunnies be gone!

WATCHING Sherlock. Holy moly. Why has it taken me so long to discover this addicting show. Benedict and Martin. The golden couple. Where is season four!?

READINGThe Mortal Instruments City of Fallen Angels. Good golly, this series is engrossing.

COOKING Yellow Thai curry stir fry. Trader Joe’s has everything. Can I move in?

WEARING My gorgeous diamond cross necklace from my sweet 16 birthday. Oh sweet nostalgia. Emma thinks it’s a chew toy.

RECOVERING From an annoying head cold from last week. I apologize to all in my vicinity for my disgusting nose-blowing marathons.

THINKING About what a conundrum motherhood is sometimes. I am simultaneously longing for those early tiny baby days and looking forward to her every milestone. Le sigh

THANKING Everyone who reads this little blog. You complete me. *singing a serenade to you my fine friends*.

CREATING Recipes for Emma. I love giving her new foods to try. She enjoys her morning egg scramble.

APPRECIATING My perfect, wonderful, handsome, kind, generous, patient, funny, loving husband. Honey, you are my rock.

Have a fun short week my friends!

Apparently, sleeping in is a thing of the past. I fought it as long as possible. I kicked, I screamed, I wailed. I thought, How could it be so? Say it isn’t so! If I just stay in bed, surely sleeping in will occur! Alas, I will just have to change the definition of sleeping in to 6 am.

Did I mention that it’s Saturday?

Good thing the coffee is a flowin’.

Here is what I am up to at the moment.

READINGThe Mortal Instruments City of Ashes. I cannot put it down.

EATING Quiche from Trader Joe’s. Come to mama.

DRINKING My new White Chocolate Peppermint rooibos tea from Teavana.

WEARING My new leather ankle booties. They keep my feet warmer than ballet flats and go with everything.

SMELLING This cinnamon whisk from Trader Joe’s. It wafts its gloriousness every time we open and close our door.

STUDYING For the written portion of my dental license exam. Think of me on November 22nd.

LISTENING To 1989 on repeat. And also my first bit of Christmas music for the season.

LOVING My new iPhone 6. The screen! The picture quality! Drool.

ENJOYING Introducing Emma to different solid foods. So far she’s tried applesauce, banana, squash, sweet potato, berries, toys, her own feet, and mama’s clothing.

RECOVERING From a pinky finger sprain.

WATCHING Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Obviously.

SHARING My November devotion on Blessed Is She.

Paul is still in Tahoe for a boys trip. He’s been having so much fun - fishing, gambling, golfing, and sharing their deepest secrets over ice cream. Boys do that right? Emma and I are holding down the fort. Send food!

Happy weekending!

At the moment

These last two weeks have been NUTS. With a capital N. Emma started rolling, laughing, and sucking her thumb. Be still my heart. Can she get some Peter Pan action around here and stay little and precious forever? You can find me curled up in the corner now.

I was also on my Oral Surgery rotation these past two weeks and I took out a whole bunch of teeth. I really enjoyed it! Taking out teeth is pretty freaking awesome. Yes I know, I sound like a weirdo.

Any who, here is what I am up to at the moment.

EATING eggs on eggs on eggs.

DRINKING lots of water. I’m parched all of the time. Sigh, breast feeding.

COOKING nothing lately. I have been so busy.

LOVING my new 1-liter Nalgene water bottle.

READING magazines! Does anyone still subscribe anymore?

NEEDING new pants for school.

WANTING to go on vacation with my family. Nearly anywhere will do.

ANTICIPATING our Lake Tahoe trip at the end of the month.

ENJOYING ice cream.

WONDERING what Emma thinks and dreams about.

WORRYING about my breast milk supply.

NOTICING how amazing and intelligent is our Emma.

FEELING grateful for my wonderful friends.

I am trying to work on feeling more positive and worrying less. Easier said than done I know, but it is something that is weighing on my heart.

“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.”

Tomorrow is my sister’s graduation party (yay!) and we head back to San Francisco on Sunday (boo!). This has been a wonderful week! I hope you all have a fantabulous weekend!

(Wait, that’s not a word, but oh well, please don’t leave me.)
