Our 5th anniversary

Oh, this guy.

On Saturday, Paul and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. Five years have passed with my tremendous husband and I thank God for him. He is a true partner and I love him more than words.

We had a quiet lunch at a local Italian place. The owner was incredibly sweet and I enjoyed our alone time while my mom watched Emma badger. I was having prodromal labor contractions the whole time but what can you do. The owner brought us this delicious gelato plate at we ate every single bite.

I am more in love with this man than I have ever been. Swooooooon.

29/52: Anniversary celebration

Yesterday, Paul, Emma, and I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing anniversary dinner. These special occasions tend to sneak up on us now that Emma has popped on the scene. But amidst the chaos, we find time to slow it down.

What is this 52 thing all about you may ask? Well, we are a little more than halfway through the year and sometimes we all need a little reminder about this and that. This 52 project is all about life's extraordinarily ordinary moments. It's about those little snapshots and glimpses into our busy lives allowing me to stop, reflect, and appreciate the ordinary. Because after all, the ordinary is actually the extraordinary.

Four years

Four magical, beautiful, challenging, fulfilling, amazing, hilarious, wonderful years.

I have learned a lot these past four years - about devotion, sacrifice, partnership, frustration, patience, friendship, and love. I always dreamed - but never knew - that I would be married to a man like Paul. He challenges me, he grounds me, and he inspires me. He loves unconditionally and forgives whole-heartedly. God has truly blessed me with this man.
