Life 365 | Week 37

WHEWIE! (Is that even how you spell it?) Sunday nights! Yawn, sigh, burp, denial. Moving on.

Big news! Bloglovin and Tumblr have kissed and made up. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, just keep scrolling.

I hate to report this but I will no longer be posting pictures of Emma on my blog. HA! Just kidding, could you imagine? I cannot believe that 37 weeks have gone by in this year of the queen two thousand fourteen. SAY WHAT? I am happy that I have kept up with this series. While I don’t think I’ll continue this series in 2015, I will continue to post photos of the chubby one…me. Oh yes, and Emma.

Tomorrow starts week two of my externship. Let’s eat! Oh yes, and do some dentistry.

GUYS, OHMYGOSH, GUYS! Emma is seconds away from crawling. She’s already nailed the army crawl and pivoting and can get up on all fours and starts to rock and sway. Aaaaaaaaand she’s off to the races! I get a little teary-eyed thinking about how strong she is and how fast she’s growing. STAHP IT RIGHT NOW. I want to give birth to her all over again, wait, who said that? I’m not crazy, I promise. Hello?

EIGHT This is the epitome of what Mondays look like. Open mouth drooling and all. But look at those pants, come on! I put her in a black onesie that day, like mama. Black is the new black.

NINE Staring competition. My money is on Emma sneezing into daddy’s face and making him blink. SUCKA. Yes, Emma’s onesie has a poodle on it. Ooo la la.

TEN After getting stuck in game-day traffic on the Bay Bridge, mommy needed a cosmo in a big gulp. Thank God for Auntie Grace holding the squirmy one so mommy didn’t drop her. Emma mistook Grace’s scarf for a chew toy. Emma, that’s why we can’t have nice things!

ELEVEN I feel like Emma just said a cheesy joke and ended it was an “Eh, ba dum ch!” And yes, Emma you are perfect, we get it. Thank you for not throwing up on mommy’s bedding.

TWELVE GO DODGERS! But of course Emma, you can make your own sports choices, but remember who feeds you. No pressure.

THIRTEEN Emma couldn’t figure out what we were doing. We were cleaning the apartment Emma, I know that’s not something you see very often. Yes, that’s a vacuum. No, it won’t eat your toesies. But I might.

FOURTEEN Flying nun? Ghost? I guess we are brainstorming Halloween costumes. Let’s keep trying Emma. We can do better.

Have a great week friends! I’m off to chase the smelly one around the living room. I mean Paul of course. Emma is having a cold one in her bouncy chair.

Life 365 | Week 36

Happy Monday ya’ll. I will probably be pretty MIA the next few weeks because I started my externship. Basically, I’m out of the dental school and in an Oakland community clinic doing some good ol’ Dentistry. Today was my first day and it was wonderful. It was fast-paced and I had an assistant, baller!

I hope you all have a wonderful week! I know I will - elbow deep in some mouths. ;]

ONE Tahoe selfie! She’s so stinkin’ cute.

TWO Look at this puddin’. LOOK AT HER. Okay, I’m sorry, I’ll calm down. But seriously, she’s precious.

THREE I feel like she’s judging me. Like, “Ma, seriously? You want me to go to bed quietly? You are so silly woman.”

FOUR “Yo, yo, yo babies, my record is about to drop on Full Diaper records. Get it Tuesday son.

FIVE Oh yeah. A good old fashioned old fashioned on a Friday night. Side note: there were two other families with their babies in this pub with us. I guess we all had a similar mindset going on.

SIX Just a guy and a gal with their tennis. Emma had money on Djokovic and was quite disappointed.

SEVEN PILLOW FORT! No moms allowed.

Have a great week everyone!

How 'bout some photos?

Not that I don’t post enough already, right? But seriously, get ready for some good old fashioned scrollin’.

Tahoe is one of my most favorite places in the whole wide world. My family used to go now and again when I was growing up and now my new little threesome took a trip. Gawww, that’s adorable.

I am not so much a fan of the snow-drenched version of Tahoe. I prefer the piney goodness of the summer time Tahoe. Although I do like the combined late winter/early spring version with snow in the mountains but not on the ground, if ya know what I mean.

We left Friday afternoon and got stuck in a bit of Labor Day traffic, oh joy. But when we finally made it, all was well. Emma seemed to do great with the altitude but the dry air made us all sound like congested pugs. Any who, let the photo dump commence.

Saturday morning we woke up to this beautiful sunrise. I could get used to this. City life is definitely wanting in views like these. Now if I could bottle that smell of the trees in early morning, I would be a happy camper.

Emma, those are TREES. I know they look different than the concrete walls you’re used to. The balcony from our place overlooked the beautiful mountains. Emma said, oooahheeeooo. I think that meant she liked it.

On Saturday, we just relaxed. We also hit up my favorite restaurant in Tahoe. It’s a little Scottish pub with AMAZING food. I mean drool-worthy food. I dove head first into this truffled mac and cheese and didn’t come up for air for a while. I think our neighboring table was freaked out.

Can I get an Amen?

We watched some movies and some tennis. Emma rolled around like it was going out of style. I swear, she finds a worm hole or something because one minute she’s on one side of the floor and the next, she’s practically in another room. Stealth baby.

Sunday, we drove out to Virginia City. I love this place. It’s an old mining town and they have preserved the old buildings and the old-timey feel to it. It’s touristy and I love it.

Of course, we had to stop in the candy store. Paul’s eyes became bigger than those barrels. Maybe we should only buy 12 pounds of candy. 13 seems to be pushing it.

Our last stop was getting our photos taken.

Old time photos.

We had an absolute blast. Although we put on our serious faces, it was so fun. I was like, “Smile!” but Emma was like, “Guys you have to put on a stoic face, it’s era-appropriate”. Well, alright then.

This may be my favorite photo, like ever.

Sunday night we went to dinner and toasted our trip. We didn’t want to say goodbye, but I know we will be back soon.

Emma was dancing the night away at the restaurant. I kid you not, in this photo she was dancing to Back In Black by AC/DC. Someone has some classic tastes.

Life 365 | Week 35

I am currently curled up in bed with a box of tissues and the accompanying symphony of my nose blowing. If I thought the fresh Tahoe mountain air would help me kick this illness, I was wrong. Wahh! Emma and Paul are on the mend so that’s good at least. I haven’t been hit this hard in a while. Okay enough of the pity party.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway. Just getting out of town and enjoying some quiet time is just what we needed. I didn’t want the weekend to end (which is probably why this week’s Life 365 is getting a late start).

TWENTY-FIVE I think she’s showing me her boogies. I am so glad she is feeling better.

TWENTY-SIX Aren’t these PJs the sweetest? Unfortunately, she had an explosion 0.34 seconds after this photo was taken. I wish I could go down to the river to beat her soiled clothes on a rock.

TWENTY-SEVEN Thank goodness for Auntie Grace’s obsessive photo-taking. She is patient enough to capture this sweet girl’s facial expressions.

TWENTY-EIGHT “What do you mean I have to get more shots? Are you joshing me you devilish woman?” Poor baby was so brave. She is in the 98th percentile in height! I am still floored.

TWENTY-NINE Now THAT’S a view. Our resort was on a mountainside and overlooked the Nevada side of Tahoe. It was breathtaking.

THIRTY Emma - 1, Paul - 0 Yerrrrrr out!

THIRTY-ONE Just a boy and his candy (he was in heaven). More about that later.

Hopefully I kick this illness soon. As much as I love blowing my nose every two seconds and having my ears stuffed up, can we be done now?

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day holiday!

Lake Tahoe bound

Happy Labor Day Weekend! Paul, Emma, and I are heading to one of my favorite places today - Lake Tahoe. People usually go in the winter for skiing and snowboarding, or as I like to call it MISERY. (Can you tell I am not a fan of snow?) I love to go in the Spring/Summer because it is just beautiful. The sun glistens off the lake and the trees are so green and smell like piney goodness (I am painting quite the picture).

{via, edit}

Unfortunately, I am sick but I have been looking forward to this trip for so long, so scratchy throat and plugged ears be damned (cover your ears Emma). Be sure to follow along on Instagram for Tahoe photos and of course, Emma deliciousness. (Did you check out her four months update yesterday? She is just scrumptious.)

May you all have a fantastic weekend!
