Around here

January is already off to a busy start. My college roommate, Katie, visited us and spend some time teaching Emma the joys of eating raw cookie dough off the spoon. I did a quick 24-hour turn around trip down to my parents' for my sister's bridal shower in which Henry tested out his lungs by screaming on both flights. My dad made me cry with laughter while he modeled a toilet paper wedding dress and shook his booty like it was going out of style. I got to smother my sister with love and best wishes as she counts down to her special day. This blog may not get a lot of action these days and maybe it will change in the future. But until then, we are out there staying busy and keeping on top of the mounds of laundry and newly developed toddler appetite. Head over to my Instagram for more updates on the daily.

A tot with interrupted naps followed by interrupted sleep followed by more interrupted naps. When will this refusal to sleep end?! A tired mother wants to know.

Reveling in family time on these crisp autumn days and pulling the scarves and hats out of storage.

Underestimating the learning curve of an 18-month old who manages to lock me out of the house by turning the dead bolt. *Click* *Gulp*

Looking forward to time with family during the Thanksgiving holiday and remembering that family is what I am most thankful for these days.

A crazy, energetic, non-stop, wild, and fearless little girl. And a mesmerized mommy soaking it all in. 

The reality of my new normal - no alarms, no schedule, just a mom and her girl - for now. It's a strange feeling. 

Attempting to plan this year's Halloween costumes. It will be hard to top last year's.

Deciding what to do to fill our days - library, zoo, painting, going to the park, etc. Tell me all the tricks!
